Homelessness looks less like living on the streets and more like sleeping in an overnight PADS shelter, crashing on a friend’s couch, or living out of a vehicle. Community Impact has multiple teams that serve at Hesed House, Illinois’ second largest homeless shelter.

Hesed House 3rd Wednesday Dinner Team
3rd Wednesday of the Month | Drop Off: 10a-3p
We’d love to have you join us in serving as part of the 3rd Wednesday Dinner Team at the overnight family shelter at Hesed House! During this COVID season, Hesed House has changed the way food is delivered and served to their guests. Therefore, we are in need of those who can cook, drop off pre-packaged food at the Naperville Campus, or those who can help plate individual meal containers in the Naperville Campus Kitchen. Hesed House Work Days
Community Impact sends teams to Hesed House 5-6 times a year to maintain their landscaping beds or help with a myriad other projects. Join us for a morning of weeding, pruning, transplanting, painting, cleaning, organizing, etc. A Participant Agreement is needed for these serves. If you will be serving more than twice at Hesed House, you’ll need to complete a Volunteer Application and Background Check from The Compass Church.
